    Heidi Dergel

    PRESIDENT

I grew up in Barker, NY, and after spending years away pursuing education and career opportunities, I returned in 2017 so my family could build a life rooted in community. Barker is where my roots are, where my family feels at home, and where I want to invest my time and energy. I believe deeply in this town and in the people who live here.

I co‑founded this organization because I recognized that our district was losing the momentum it once had. This district was a thriving community in the 1990s, and I believe we can move in that direction again with the right focus and community involvement. My goal is to encourage our neighbors to come together, take part in this effort, and help our town grow and thrive once more. Please join us in rebuilding that sense of unity, purpose, and possibility for the next generation — together.

    Seanna Bradley

    VICE PRESIDENT

I currently serve as Vice President of the Ontario Shores Community Organization (OSCO) and previously served as Treasurer. I have been involved since the organization’s inception, helping to bring back the Barker Corn Festival from the 1990s, and I co-chair the Fireworks Committee, where I help secure funding, pursue grants, and plan fundraisers to support the festival’s annual fireworks display.
I grew up in the Village of Barker in a family deeply involved in the community, which instilled in me a strong love of volunteerism at an early age. I attended SUNY Fredonia, where I majored in Political Science with minors in Journalism and History, and later lived in Ithaca, New York before deciding to move home with my husband, Phil, to raise our family. We have three daughters who attend Barker Central School.
Community involvement is deeply personal to me—it is about honoring my roots and giving back to the place and people who have supported me through some of the hardest moments of my life. In my rare spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, offering my unsolicited opinions on politics and country music, and cheering on my daughters at their sporting events.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.
